The Catalyst infoshop rages again! Thank you to all who came to the grand opening party, cooked beautiful food,
cleaned the space, organized books and zines, performed, and helped make the atmosphere great!
A special thanks to Buffalo Phil and The Outlaws (Prescott,) Let the World Die (Flagstaff,) Swordfern (Olympia,) and
Industria (Santa Cruz,) for playing an amazing show. Thanks to Rachel Houseman for displaying wonderful art during
the party and for the rest of July.
The Catalyst is seeking new volunteers to take on regular weekly shifts to act as librarians and cover open
shop hours. Also, more help is needed to make Food Not Bombs happen.
As of now, the space is only open from noon to 5 on Food Not Bombs days : Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
The few current volunteers are struggling to cover these shifts. Also, more people are needed to collect food donations
and cook Food Not Bombs! Please stop by on one of these days if you would like to be trained as a
volunteer, check out the library, or hang out. Hope to see you soon!

The dust is settling and The Catalyst is beginning to come out of boxes again. In the coming weeks, work parties
will be scheduled to get shelves up, arrange the library, organize the art supplies, and once again enjoy our
beloved community infoshop. Keep an eye out for dates if you'd like to help.
The Catalyst is still in need of financial help: we have not had the funds to lay down the security deposit for the
building. Any donation would be appreciated. If you'd like to help, send us a check or stop by.
Food Not Bombs is already being cooked at the new location: 207 Spring st. Stop by on Fridays and Sundays
at noon if you want to help cook, 3 if you want to help eat, and 4 if you want to help clean.
This Friday May 14th will be the space's first show. The Black Death All Stars (folk punk from Georgia)
are coming through to play a rowdy rambunctious show at 8pm. Hope to see you there!

The Catalyst website is up!?
The website is finally here! The Catalyst projects are rooted in the physical space, so we encourage you to come by and participate. The intention of the website is to make information about events and projects more available, to invite a wider group of people to come get involved, and to promote access to important ideas, projects, and media across Arizona.
This site is new and we want it to be clear, be relevant, and to grow. Please get in touch with questions or feedback.
Prisoner Support at the Catalyst?
The Catalyst is facilitating successful prisoner support. There is a weekly opportunity, either at an event in Prescott or Wednesday nights at the Catalyst, to learn about individuals' stories, to write letters and develop relationships, and to learn about prison issues and other efforts going on to address the root causes of prison growth, high incarceration rates, and repression of radical political action.
One of the best ways for you to begin to effectively work against the flawed prison system is to ally with someone who lives in prison. Come to "Letters to Prisoners," at the Catalyst every Wednesday in January from 4-6pm.
December Freeskool Happenings?
People are making all kinds of things!! Wooden spoons, block prints, pine needle nests, rubber tire sandals, pickles, ginger beer, herbal tinctures.... The list goes on and on. Freeskool has been going strong since September and is not slowing down. There are classes to feed your crafty needs, your intellectual needs, and your physical needs. Participants have been awesome at creating a supportive environment to explore new ideas, to ask questions, to express themselves, and have fun.
Come on out to a Freeskool class! Pick up a printed calendar! or check it out at http://freeskoolprescott.blogspot.com/
